The Proposal

Stirling's proposed new Village will sit in the carpark behind the Mt Barker Road shops between Pomona Road and Merrion Terrace. The only proposed change to Stirling's main street is the removal of buildings located directly in front of the Coco's building (Coco's is currently only visiible from the rear carpark). The Chemist will be relocated to a new, easily accessible location nearby on the main street. Coco's front garden will be restored to make it an iconic addition to Stirling's main streetscape.

)

Existing trees situated in the carpark have been examined by a major landscape company, and will be either preserved as is or carefully removed by Air Spade and cared for elsewhere until they can be reinstated in the new development.

A three storey carpark will be sited underneath the development with a level, pedestrian-only area, making up the proposed village hub. Entry/exit to the carpark will be at the same level as the Aldi from Pomona Road or Merrion Terrace.

Once the development has final approval, building will be undertaken in stages to ensure that all businesses will continue to operate with minimal interruption.

Town Square, Cafes/Restaurants, Pools, Wellness Centre & Accommodation

Stirling is known for it's beautiful gardens, leafy avenues, and stonework, but it is also alive with a diverse array of vibrant artists, including painters, sculptors, musicians, etc. Let's celebrate and enjoy more of their inspiring work by providing a fabulous hub designed to promote and exhibit their creativity. The development would not only incorporate sculptures, gardens, and artworks throughout, but also plans to include a gallery and working artist spaces, a large Town Square surrounded by cafes, play and performance spaces, water features, outdoor cinema, and ice skating opportunities, as well as a connection through to a rejuvenated Apex Park.

As a community, people need and want to be entertained. The Town Square is planned to be a large central space designed with everything needed to support live music, outdoor cinema, markets, and play space for children. It will incorporate feature lighting and creative artworks by local hills artists.

A world class Wellness Centre boasting swimming and hydrotherapy pools, day spa, sauna, gym, yoga, Pilates, and an array of natural therapies.

An boutique hotel with multi-room options, mini cinema/theatrette, plus a range of garden apartment options from penthouses, to courtyard and balcony units, all designed with 'hills dwellers' in mind and suiting a diverse range of buyers.
